DRESS: H&M. HANDBAG: Coach Willis Bag. SHOES: Nine West. SUNGLASSES: Chanel. BELT: Wilfred via Aritzia. WATCH: Michael Kors MK5160. BRACELETS: BCBG, J.Crew, Forever 21. RINGS: Kate Spade Love Notes Bow Ring, Ardene Thin Ring.

 

I have a weakness for whimsical prints.  Since I look much younger than my age, I must be very careful when selecting these prints, otherwise it can look too juvenile.  I try to stick to sophisticated cuts (à la this shirt dress), subtle prints or luxe fabrics.  I’ll also pair them with more refined, polished pieces such as pencil skirts, pointy toe pumps or statement jewellery.  Do you have any tips for  making whimsical prints look more mature?

    Lovely Jenny, I have that same issue looking younger than 30, but hey we don’t wanna complain it could be worse hahaha but I hear ya when it comes to whimsical prints. The whole trick is to accessoires it with delicate and sophisticated jewellery, elegant pointy toe pumps (my favourite as they make your foot/leg look longer) and even a nice hair style (updo) can give that finish touch. I think it’s important to use a nice belt to accentuate the feminine waist and a classy leather purse. Even a lovely sensual make up plays an important role. You have it down cold Jenny.
    Another note, I am so jealous, the H&M I have around here doesnt have all those lovely items you have :-(

    I think this look is very mature – from far away, you can’t even tell it’s a horse print. You look gorgeous! I bet this dress would look fabulous with a black blazer if you wanted to dress it up more.
