Florals & Stripes

Debuting a new (to me) print combination. . .florals & stripes!  Ok, I know it’s not so new, and I sound way too excited about this combo, but I’ve admired this pattern play from afar until I found the two perfect pieces to pair together.  This wild H&M floral peplum top and these bold Old Navy striped shorts were screaming in unison, “Wear us!  Wear us!”  Are you loving the floral & stripe combo this summer as much as I am?

 

 

Secret No More

After 3 months of keeping this “dirty little secret”, I finally told a few of my closest friends about this blog.   Before Friday, the only person who knew was my Man since he was suckered into being my photographer.  I’m a modest, shy person who breaks into a sweat at the thought of any attention or focus on me, so I was extremely hesitant to tell anyone about the fact that I’m taking pictures of myself and posting them on the internet for all to judge and criticize.  Well, of course I should have known that my friends are amazing, and could not have been more supportive.  I’m still not ready to tell everyone, nor do I think people really care, but this was a big step for me personally.  A question for other bloggers. . .are you open about your blog or do you keep it a secret also?

 

 

Summer 08

The summer of 2008 was consumed by my obsession for this Rag & Bone shirt dress.  It started when I saw it on Cameron Diaz, and immediately knew it had to be mine.  I spent a week calling stores, checking the internet and finally having to call their head office to find out where I could get my hands on it.  I ended up finding the last one in my size in the entire U.S. at a small boutique in NYC.  I was thrilled once I received it, and pretty much wore it every day for the rest of the summer.  My persistence was definitely worth my time because I’ve continued to wear this dress every year since.  I know I will have this lightweight, classic tunic in my wardrobe for a very long time.

 

 

Hurry, Hurry

“Hurry, hurry!” was what both my Man and I started screaming as it started to rain the moment we walked out the door to take these photos.  I said, “Oh no, my suede shoes!”  He said, “Your shoes?! What about the camera?!” Obviously, we have different priorities in life.
