My Plea for Summer

Top: H&M Trend. Dress (worn as skirt): Topshop (same style here). Shoes: Boutique 9 Justine. Handbag: Chloe Paddington. Watch: Michael Kors MK5160. Bracelets: Kate Spade Skinny Mini Bow Bangle, BCBG, J.Crew, Forever 21.
I am making a plea to Mother Nature. . .please do not take Summer away from me! I still want to wear bright colours, fun florals and short skirts. I am nowhere near ready for jackets or boots or mittens. I promise to be a good girl if you will just give me an Indian Summer this September. Thank you for your consideration.

Making a Statement

Necklace: BCBG. Top and Skirt: Club Monaco (old). Shoes: Joan & David via Nordstrom (new). Handbag: Marc by Marc Jacobs Classic Q Karlie Bag. Watch: Michael Kors. Rings: Ann Taylor, Kate Spade. Bracelets: Henri Bendel bangle, BCBG links. Sunglasses: Chanel.
When I read that Marionberry Style’s August Trend of the Month Challenge was statement necklaces, I knew that I just had to participate. I LOVE statement jewellery, especially necklaces. I own many, and I’m always looking for more. A statement necklace can really take an average outfit to the next level, and turn it into something spectacular. To see how other fabulous bloggers styled their statement necklaces, check out Marion’s blog.

Fuchsia Splash

Dress: Jacob. Belt: BCBG. Shoes: Boutique 9. Handbag: Chanel. Sunglasses: Chanel. Ring: Unknown. Lipstick: MAC “Girl About Town”.
Adding a splash of colour to black and/or white outfits can add a bit of fun and interest to any outfit. I’ve been on a fuchsia kick since I recently bought these pretty Boutique 9 Justine pumps and this vivid MAC lipstick (as also seen in the outfit here). I can see this colour working perfectly into Fall paired with neutrals such as grey, and also with other gorgeous jewel tones.

Feeling Hot, Hot, Hot

Top: Jacob. Skirt: H&M. Clutch: Marc Jacobs. Sandals: Zara. Necklace: Anthropologie. Sunglasses: Chanel.
The weather in Toronto has been capital H-O-T the last few days. The air conditioning in our entire condo building was completely broken all weekend. In a desperate need to leave the sauna (ie. our apartment) to find some A/C, we went out to dinner Saturday night, and this is what I wore. I selected my outfit by basically putting on the lightest weight clothing I had, in an attempt to stay cool. Despite the heat, my weekend was pretty wonderful and relaxing. How was yours?
