Cardigan: H&M. Top: J.Crew. Shorts: Old Navy. Handbag: Gucci. Shoes: Boutique 9. Watch: Michael Kors. Ring: Kate Spade. Sunglasses: Chanel.

 

I’m not really a “shorts” girl, but I must say that Old Navy really changed my mind this summer.  I typically find that shorts are not the most flattering on my curvy figure, but it seemed like every Old Navy pair I tried on fit well.  I haven’t purchased shorts in well over 5 years, but I picked up 3 this summer from Old Navy. They were right on trend with their prints too.  I scored this polka dot pair, as well as a striped style, and a gingham pair.  Anybody else loved and purchased Old Navy shorts this season?

      Ha ha, you should definitely stop into Old Navy. They have many J. Crew inspired pieces right now but at really inexpensive prices!

    I love this. I never wear shorts but now I want to run out and get those shorts. Love the sweater too. You are really opening my eyes on places to shop that I never even walk into

    Such a pro at layering — super cute! I *almost* picked up a pair of the sailboat-print shorts from Old Navy earlier this summer, but decided they were a bit, well, short for this tall chica. (My husband voted yes, but my vote counted twice.)     You asked if we had purchased any new shorts…none that you’ll ever see on my blog! :-)

    I think those days have passed for me and I think I would be too self-conscious to wear high heels with shorts (or shorts on my blog); however, you definitely make it work. Kudos to you!

    I don’t shop at Old Navy, but I did by several pairs of shorts this summer, and I don’t remember the last time I bought any shorts before that! I think I just don’t like tiny little jean shorts, and that’s the first thing I thought of when I thought of “shorts.” But I discovered so many other non-jean and non-tiny shorts, and now I can’t believe I’ve been missing out all this time!

    Even with shorts, your outfit is really classy and you look so glam and feminine in those pictures! I’m not a short person either, but I think I’ve been a bit more brave this summer wearing them! I haven’t been in Old Navy lately, but my two only pair of shorts I got them from there last year and for some reason they are also the only ones that better fit my figure. Can’t wait to see more picture of how you style your other pairs of shorts!

    I work next to an Old Navy (I can literally see into the store from my desk – dangerous!) and they have really stepped up their game lately! Whenever I tell people something is from Old Navy they can’t believe it. I love those shorts on you, so adorable!

    Believe it or not…I’m totally like you too but this summer I also purchased quite a few pairs of shorts…and I also love wearing them ;)
    I think it also helps that now shorts are not all super tiny…definitely more classy options now ;)

    Yes! Old Navy has been right on target with shorts this season. Usually the shorts in stores are either too short or look like I should just be 50 years older than I am! I agree, Old Navy just did so well this year. They really have the perfect lengths without looking old or too young! I purchased my first pair of shorts this summer (since like 2005) and agree, these shorts are fantastic! Love the way you styled your polka dots!

    I tend not to wear shorts unless it is super hot and I have to do alot of walking. Your outfit makes me want to “style” my shorts and wear them because they are stylish.
