Jacket: Zara. Sequin Tank: J.Crew (similar). Jeans: H&M. Shoes: Topshop (old). Bag: Chanel. Rings: H&M. Sunglasses: Chanel.
My critical eye and judgement of clothing quality were both thrown out the window when I saw this pretty sweater coat. I was so in love with the cut, fabric and beading that I neglected to see the very poor quality of this piece. The collar was sewn on crookedly, the beading on one sleeve feel off almost immediately after leaving the house, the lining is longer than the outer layer, all edges of the jacket had frayed within 3 hours of wearing it, and to top it off, it’s over-priced. I would NOT recommend buying this jacket.
Hopefully this can serve as a “buyer beware” post. Since I’m now stuck with this jacket, I will wear it, but I will not show it here again. I think I will contact Zara, explain the situation, and see if they will take it back as a defective item, however I’m not holding my breath. (Expensive) lesson learned.
P.S. A big hello to Jennifer, whom I met yesterday at H&M. So sorry to run off so quickly with a bright red face from embarrassment, and I know I was totally awkward. You’re the first person I’ve met in real life from the blogging world. It was wonderful meeting you, even only for a few seconds.

Good to know! It looks awesome but if its poor quality not worth it. My hesitation from buying at places where I know I won’t get lifetime use out of my purchases. Guess you get what you paid for???? It’s gorgeous jacket!!! Maybe just a bad jacket?? Can you exchange it?

That sucks! In the photos is still looks great though. I know how you feel. This summer the same thing happened when I ordered from Zara online. I live two hours away from my nearest Zara so it was an obnoxious couple of phone calls but they did let me return it. I hope the same goes for you!

Well I don’t blame you for being blinded at all – that jacket looks adorable! I would definitely contact Zara – there’s really no excuse for poor workmanship, especially when the piece is expensive.

I love Zara’s offerings, but I’m with you, the quality is pretty hit or miss. I’ve had pretty good luck with their blazers and shoes, however. Too bad for that cardi, because after looking at that first pic of you in it, I immediately thought “I need it!”

Oh, no!! I hate when the quality of things are super decieving. “Oh, this piece will last forever!” you think, only for the buttons and hems to fray after a few wears… yech!
It especially hurts when you love how it looks, but know that it won’t last and forcefully have to put it back. Ouch.

So disappointing about the jacket! I find that happens a lot with Zara’s beaded/bedazzled pieces though… one time I found an entire rack of dresses with these jewelled collars (which were gorgeous) but jewels were literally falling off or already off! And they were new!

Jenny, there shouldn’t be any excuses why Zara shouldn’t take it back. When you still have the tag and everything they do it, I had some issues before and they took it back
I am on a hunt for the same exact pair of black heels, such classic pieces and stophisticated that match with jeans and dresses. That is a chic and comfy sweater but to be honest with you, I can kinda see the poor quality.

For what it’s worth, I think the jacket looks fabulous in these photos! It’s peplum AND a jacket. Can’t go wrong. Unless of course it’s defective and overpriced… Such a shame!
