Shoes: Boutique 9 (on sale!). Coat: French Connection. Denim Jacket: J.Crew. Turtleneck: Club Monaco. Jeans: H&M. Gloves: via Macy’s. Clutch: Henri Bendel (love this version). Lipstick: MAC Girl About Time. Sunglasses: Chanel.
Lipstick pink accessories feel ultra feminine and pretty. . . right up my alley. I scored these gloves at Macy’s for half off on the Black Friday weekend, along with a cobalt blue pair. I’m also eyeing this turquoise J.Crew pair. Living in Toronto, a girl can never have too many pairs of sleek leather gloves.
Jacket: BCBG. Top: H&M. Skirt: H&M. Shoes: Topshop. Handbag: Chanel. Rings: H&M, BCBG. Sunglasses: Chanel.
Florals and stripes were a favourite combination for me this past Summer (as seen here and here), and this is my Winter version of the mixed prints. I would also like to share a little story with you today. Last Thursday was one of the weirdest days of my life, and I can’t help but share it with you. I’m a typical Virgo…type A personality, organized, a perfectionist and always prepared, so that’s why the events of last Thursday really threw me for a loop. They say bad things come in 3′s, but I’m now thinking that applies to weird events too.
1. Last Thursday, I woke up, got dressed for work, arrived at the office, and a co-worker looked at me and screamed, “Is today Friday?” I gave her a confused look and said no. She pointed at my legs, I looked down and realized I was wearing jeans! I had worn jeans for casual Friday on Thursday! For a number of reasons, I thought it was Friday that morning, and I felt so ridiculous! Thank goodness my Manager is really cool and she just laughed and laughed. I’m not joking when I say that I’ve actually had nightmares of this happening to me.
2. I was driving home to my parents house for the weekend that night after work, which is about 4 hours away from Toronto. This was one of the reasons I thought it was Friday, because I usually leave to visit my parents on Friday nights (not Thursdays). I was just outside of Toronto and saw an animal strolling along the side of the highway. I slowed down and realized it was a pig! A PIG! You definitely don’t see that everyday in Toronto. Then I noticed that the song playing on the radio was “You’re a Strange Animal!” A pig on the side of the road when “You’re a Strange Animal” is on the radio?. . .c’mon. . . what are the chances?!
3. After 4 hours in the car, I finally made it to my parents house. They were out for dinner so I tried to let myself in the back door. Their lock has been jamming lately and I couldn’t get it open, so I went to try the front door. For some odd reason, my key wouldn’t work in that door either. I called my brother, who lives about 10 minutes away, to come over and let me in through the garage with his remote. I asked him what he was doing, and he said he was sitting in his driveway, waiting for his friend to come over with his spare key because he locked himself out of his house! What are the odds that my brother and I we were both locked out of our houses at the same time and sitting in our driveways waiting to be rescued!?
Oh, what a day! So strange, but so funny. I really was laughing all day, especially about the pig! This may be one of those “you had to be there” situations, but let me tell you…it was a weird, weird day.
