Grey Days

Coat: Zara. Top: Improvd. Skirt: Club Monaco. Clutch: Balenciaga. Boots: unknown. Rings: Stella & Dot, H&M. Sunglasses: Chanel.

Happy Monday Everyone!  I hope you all had a great weekend!  Did you all watch Beyonce’s AH-MAZ-ING Superbowl halftime show?  Wow, she killed it!

Now, on to the outfit. . .I bought this coat a few months ago, but the rest of the pieces I’m wearing are all several years old.  The Improvd wrap top I’m wearing is a really cool piece.  It can actually also be worn upside down with a slip underneath and it looks like a dress.  The boots I purchased in NYC many years ago from some random store we stumbled upon while strolling through Soho.  The label on the shoe is worn out so I can’t remember the brand name, but I do know  it’s a brand I have not heard of.  I spent years searching for the perfect black high boot and got so lucky I came across these.  I have pretty short legs with relatively big feet for my height ( size 8 ), so it’s extremely difficult to find boots that fit my calf and legs properly.  It will be a sad, sad day when these wear out.

Those boots are sexy as hell! My favorite pair of black stiletto boots were used as a scratching post by my cat :( may they RIP. I love that most of your outfit is quite old but still manages to look NOW. Great job!

Yes, taupe. . .that’s it! I couldn’t figure out what to call the colour of this top but it’s definitely a taupe-grey. Thank you so much Nicolene!

Great look Jenny! You top sounds so versatile – I can’t wait to see it as a dress. I have problems with boots – my calves are naturally gigantic so finding shaft with the right circumference is like mission impossible. I feel your pain in finding the perfect tall boots.

Thanks Alice! Arghh, going boot shopping is the worst because it always ends in disappointment. I’ve probably tried on maybe 400 boots that haven’t fit!

I’ve been seeing this coat on a lot of posts lately..LOVE it! I am so curious where you found that Improvd shirt. I have a Improvd coat that I adore that I purchased at a shop in Rhinebeck. So curious where else they sell this brand.

Thanks Sheree! I purchased this Improvd shirt at Bloomingdales in Santa Monica, California many years ago. It was the first time I had heard of this brand, and I actually have never seen it in any store other than Bloomingdales since. It’s a really cool brand.

I love that top! It’s both gorgeous and badass at the same time! Haha! Lovely outfit today but I have to ask, aren’t your legs cold?? I am cold just looking at you around all that snow!

    • Posted February 4, 2013 at 12:22 pm by Jenny | Permalink

Ha ha ha, thank you so much Miranda! I park in an underground parking garage in my condo and I’m literally 20 steps from the door at work so it’s sad to say, but the most time I spend outside during the day is literally 2 minutes. . .well, except for taking these photos. I probably wear more weather inappropriate items than I should, but it’s only because I hate wearing tights, and I rarely wear pants. :)
