Happy Monday Everyone!  I hope you all had a lovely weekend!  Yesterday, I attended a tea party at one of the prettiest stores I’ve ever been to, Blush.  I’ll share pics of the event tomorrow, but here is what I wore to the lovely shopping party.  When putting this outfit together, I started with this pretty purple Choies skirt, then added the other purple pieces to create an ombre feel from top to bottom.  I really love the shading effect that was created, and I definitely plan to try this again in different hues.

A side note about this Choies skirt.  This was my first time ordering from Choies, and I actually ordered this same skirt in red at the same time.  Both were on sale for only $19.  The material is quite pretty, however, the bottoms of both skirts were unevenly hemmed, and the button holes on both skirts were stitched closed.  The skirts were much too long for me, so I had to have both hemmed regardless, which fixed the uneven hem.  At only $25, I would certainly recommend purchasing these skirts, however, as you would guess for only $25, the quality is not top notch.

Dress: Gap. Necklace: Banana Republic. Handbag: Coach (similar), (similar from Marc by Marc Jacobs). Shoes: Jimmy Choo (similar by Manolo Blahnik). Coat: Jacob (similar from ModCloth). Sunglasses: Gucci.

Mint Green and Cobalt Blue.  A soft pastel shade and a bold bright hue that don’t seem like they should be paired together, but actually compliment each other quite nicely.  A combination that I’ve worn in the past (in the posts Panama and Pick-Me-Up), and will definitely wear again in the future.  Have you paired these two pretty colors together?  Do you have any unusual yet complimentary color pairings that you love to wear?

Hello Lip Lover

Lancome_Lip_Lover_Lip_Gloss2

I am very particular about the lip products I use.  My lips are always dry, lipsticks always crease in the fine lines in my pucker, and I constantly lick my lips, so even “long-lasting” lipsticks are not so “long-lasting” on me.  Regardless of whether I’m wearing a gloss, balm, stain or lipstick, I’m always in need of something that is moisturizing.  I was intrigued when I was asked to try out Lancôme’s new Lip Lover collection, which has colour, shine and care, all wrapped into one pretty little package.  I had no idea just how much I would fall in love with this “lip-changing” product.

The comfort of a balm. The refined colour of a lipstick. The shaping shine of a gloss.  Lancôme’s Lip Lover is really everything that I could ask for.

Oh Lancôme Lip Lover, how do I love thee?  Let me count the ways:

1. I love your colour.  Available in 21 shades, Lip Lover is infused with lipstick pigments, so the colour is deep, and it doesn’t feather like many other lipsticks/glosses that I’ve tried.

2. I love your lip care.  I typically apply lip balm before I put any other type of product on my lips, however, when I first tried Lip Lover, I put it directly on my pucker even though my lips were dry and chapped.  It’s non-sticky texture provided instant moisture to my lips and lasted for several hours.  Lip Lover has now replaced my lip balm in my daily routine.

3. I love your fragrance.  The most surprising element of trying out the Lip Lover collection was the delicious fragrance to the product.  The Basic Chic shades have a scent of rose petals with a hint of vanilla and juicy raspberry, while the Creative Chic colours have notes of opulent rose with iris and violet.  Both scents are heavenly.

4. I love your applicator.  With a unique flexible arrow shape, the applicator applies the perfect amount of product to my lips, and allows me to easily define the contours and maneuver around the corners of my lips.

I’m confident that you’ll love Lancôme’s Lip Lover just as much as I do.  For you lovely Canadian ladies interested in trying out this fabulous product, Lancôme is offering 10% off & free shipping on any purchase on Lancome.ca with the promo code LIPLOVER until April 25.  They are also offering a fun contest for you to win your favourite shade of Lip Lover.  Simply visit www.liplover.ca, scroll to the bottom of the page, select your favourite shade of Lip Lover and fill out the ballot. It’s that easy.

In the spirit of “favourites” since Lancôme’s Lip Lover has now been added to my list of favourite beauty products, I’ve created a mood board sharing some of my top products and places inspired by the gorgeous shade of fuchsia of Lancôme’s signature bright pink hue called “Lip Lover”.
