The weather here in Toronto hasn’t quite reached Spring temps yet. We’ve had a few beautiful, warm days but most have been on the chillier side. I did get overly excited when I saw the first blooming tree this week, so I’m pretty hopeful. But this floral Banana Republic dress certainly has me ready for Spring.
My parents are coming to visit me in Toronto this weekend, which means a few days full of family, food, and shopping . . . my ideal weekend. I’m especially thankful that I get to spend Mother’s Day with my Mom, because that’s not always the case. I’m also excited because tomorrow is the first Floral Market of the season in Toronto. This will be my first time going so you can bet I’ll be unable to control myself with all of the beautiful floral photos I’ll share on Instagram. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, and a lovely Mother’s Day for all of you Mama’s out there.
This outfit combines many of my current favorite trends: a classic-looks-good-on-everyone panama hat, a showing-just-a-sliver-of-skin crop top, a feels-like-a-girly-girl midi skirt and a not-your-typical-nurse’s-shoes pair of white pumps. I’ve had my eye on a Panama hat for two summers now and finally decided to purchase this great option from J.Crew.
On the topic of midi skirts, in my last post I mentioned that I purchased a fabulous hot pink midi skirt from ASOS. Well, just hours after sharing that post, the skirt finally arrived in the mail. To say I was disappointed is a major understatement. The shape was beautiful, but I was not impressed with the material or workmanship. Back in the mail it went immediately, so unfortunately you won’t be seeing me post that skirt. Oh well, thank goodness for good return policies!
I love summer storms. Well, I should say I love summer storms in my hometown. My hometown gets the most incredible lightening and thunder storms. The skies turn the most gorgeous shades of pinks, purples and greens, and the lightening is so bright that it literally lights up the entire sky.
Yet only 4 hours from my hometown, Toronto gets dark and nasty rain storms, nothing like those of where I grew up. The storms here are gloomy and grey instead of pretty and colourful. These outfit photos were taken last night after work, just as a terrible storm was brewing in our City. I hope everyone made it through the disastrous flooding that hit Toronto last night, and here’s hoping for a safe and rain free rest of summer!
P.S. I’m linking up today with Lauren from Style Elixir for her weekly Style Sessions.
