Silver Strands

Top: J.Crew (on sale!). Skirt: Wilfred – last seen here. Shoes: Kate Spade (similar with bows!). Handbag: Balenciaga. Necklace: The Bay. Ring: Stella & Dot. Sunglasses: Chanel.
Every time I wear this necklace, I get a ton of comments on it. Some are positive, usually from women. Others, not so much. I get a lot of those “wow, look at that necklace”, or “that’s some necklace” comments that I’m pretty sure are not meant to be compliments. I can’t tell you how many “Mr. T” and “I pity the fool” remarks I’ve received, mostly from men (including my Man, over and over and over again).
Well, I love this necklace, and it always makes me feel ultra glam. I wore this outfit to work last week, then out to an event. Tomorrow I’ll share the details of the event I attended, but until then, I hope you all have a wonderful Tuesday!

Monochromatic

Jacket: Club Monaco. Dress: Club Monaco. Clutch: Coach. Sunglasses: Gucci. Peter Pan Collar: H&M. Shoes: Boutique 9. Rings: Stella & Dot, BCBG.
Monochromatic dressing (that is, one colour from head to toe) is a huge trend for Spring 2013. I am particularly fond of this trend because it’s really easy to pull a look together, and I always feel a little extra stylish when wearing one single colour (see my past cobalt blue outfit here). I’m thrilled to be partnering with 3 fabulous ladies to show you how each of us has taken the runway trend and worn it in real life.
Amy from Coffee Beans and Bobby Pins is lovely in white, Sara from Glitter and Grace is chic in black, and Star from Beauty and Bows is pretty in pink. I felt fresh and ready for Spring in my full-on mint look. Will you be sporting the monochromatic trend this season?

XL Stripes

Coat: BCBG Outlet. Jeans: H&M. Sunglasses: Gucci. Shoes: Boutique 9. Ring: Stella & Dot. Handbag: Chanel.
Happy Monday Everyone! I hope you all had a lovely weekend!
Since the weather has been getting warmer, I’ve been living in this pretty pink and blue striped BCBG coat. I picked it up on our way to Chicago last month at an outlet mall in Indiana.
The original price of this jacket was $268, marked down to $119, which was a little too high for me. I tried it on anyway and of course fell in love. I asked the sales associate if there were any further discounts on the coat, and he said no. Sadly, I put it back on the rack, but then the sales associate said he could check the price just in case. To my sheer delight, the coat rang up at only $49! Obviously, I couldn’t pass it up at that price!
My lesson learned, and my outlet shopping tip for you, is to ALWAYS ask a sales associate to check the price of an item if price is deterring you from making the purchase. Hopefully, it may be cheaper than marked on the tag.
P.S. I’m excited to be linking up with sweet Jane on her blog Toronto Shopoholic for her #waywewear light wash denim series. Check it out!
