Nine West Beenthinkin Booties

Booties: Nine West. Blazer: Forever 21 (similar here). Top and Skirt: Jacob. Scarf: H&M. Handbag: Chanel. Sunglasses: Chanel.

If you want to step into the world of print mixing but don’t really know where to start, I find that the two easiest prints to mix are stripes and polka dots.  Keeping the prints in the same colour family will ensure that the pieces complement each other perfectly.

I want to give a big thank you to all of you for your wonderful support in my last post.  It’s great to see that many of you have the same goal to get healthy this year.  Please do not hesitate to contact me if you need a little support or encouragement to stay on track.  I’ll definitely do my best to help.  Even though it’s only been 2 days, it’s already been challenging to stay away from sugar and sweets (I have a major sweet tooth).  I just have to remember to take it one day at a time.  Thank you again!

P.S. Linking up with Marionberry and her stripe challenge of the month today!

Love the mix pattern, love the skirt, you are so right about keeping it in the same color family, am with you on loosing weight i gain a lot too during the holiday season, it takes a lot of determination to stay away from sugar lol.

Thanks so much Joy! It’s true when they say that sugar is addictive. I think our body actually goes through sugar withdrawals, if not physically then definitely mentally! 🙂

Agreed – I loved to mix spots and stripes. Don’t feel that you have to go cold turkey on the sweets & sugar! Just be sensible, eat in moderation and get in some (extra) exercise. It’s tough cutting entire food groups out, I end up wanting that one thing all the time so I don’t cut anything out. I eat well and run 3-4 times a week as well as running around after Elodie. Good luck 🙂

Thanks so much Louise! My problem is that I LOVE food and sweets! When I say LOVE, I mean LLLOOOOVVVEEE! In general I actually don’t eat that poorly, but it’s more about portion control with me. Instead of eating 1 hamburger (even though I’m completely full), I’ll eat 2 because I love the taste so much. Instead of a few bites of ice cream, I’ll eat the whole pint because I can’t get enough of the flavour. In the beginning, it’s just best for me to stay away from sweets until I get my cravings under control. Then I can slowly introduce them. Urghh, why does food have to taste to good! 🙂

    Loving this chic look!

Today is day three for me of healthy eating too! I made my boyfriend take all of the sweets sitting around to his work so they are out of sight. Not as easy getting them out of mind, though! Hang in there–it will get easier 🙂

Thanks so much Amy! That’s funny because my Man and I both agreed to get rid of all of the sweets in our house on Sunday. We both said that if it’s in the house, we will eat it, so we might as well get rid of them. I brought them to work too! 🙂 I wish you so much luck Amy!

LOVE the print mixing in the black and white!
You were able to modernize the black and white..remember you had said that!
Anyway one piece of advice form another super sweet toother..don’t deny yourself but have plain things not baked goods. I snack on Dark chocolate chips and almonds at night and this definitely does the job. Just do not deny yourself or your cravings will give in!
My tip of the day 😉
Btw..I was in Feb issue of InStyle! so excited!

CONGRATULATIONS SHEREE!! How exciting!! Thanks for the great tip! Last time I went on a health kick I bought a few bars of rich dark chocolate. One square was enough to satisfy me. I will definitely do that again. The only thing is that I need to have absolutely no sweets for the first 2 weeks to kill the cravings, otherwise I’ll just continue to indulge. After 2 weeks, I don’t crave it anymore, and then I can practice moderation. Funny how our bodies work.

Love that you’ve stuck with the black and white palette for your pattern mixing here Jenny… it really helps unify your look! I’m definitely on the same boat for sugar intake… it’s sadly become the norm for me to snack on some kind of chocolate/treat a few times a day each day 🙁 Getting my diet on track and being diligent in exercising is a priority for me too. Looking forward to following your journey with that and best of luck!!

Thanks so very much Jen! It’s funny how easy it is to get into an unhealthy routine, especially during the holidays. We were getting food gift baskets at work daily, and with only 7 of us in the office, that’s a lot of chocolate and cookies for all of use to eat. I was eating chocolate all day long at work instead of breakfast and lunch! Now with the holidays over, I actually haven’t craved the sweets during the day at work anymore. I think I may have overloaded myself. Let’s just hope this will power continues!
