Top: Anthropologie (love this floral peplum too). Jeans: H&M. Handbag: Coach. Shoes: Nine West. Ring: Shopbop. Sunglasses: Gucci.

I don’t know about you, but I am so not ready to let go of Summer.  I will be wearing my sleeveless tops, short skirts and white shoes for as long as the weather will possibly allow.  Since this pretty peplum top is bulky, I’m not sure yet if I can layer it in the Winter, so I’m trying to get as much use out of it before the cold weather hits.

I’m really excited to be guest posting for the fabulous new mamma Kira, over at her blog Northern Style Exposure while she takes a little blogging break to enjoy the new little man in her life.  In that post, I’m also wearing a summer dress, however I will definitely be layering that piece in the winter with cardigans, blazers and tights.  Please head over to Northern Style Exposure to check it out!

How about you?  Are you hanging on to the last bits of Summer, or are you welcoming Fall/Winter with open arms?

That peplum is just killer – such a gorgeous piece and so perfect on you! I love it paired with the distressed denim! It definitely looks like a difficult piece to winterize… wonder what it would look like with a super fitted turtleneck underneath? Hard to tell, but that’s one of my favorite ways to layer in the colder weather!

Aww, thanks Kate! Yes, I will definitely try a turtleneck underneath. Thanks for the suggestion. I’m just not sure because there is so much detail and colour in the top that I think something underneath might just feel like there is too much going on, but I’m definitely going to try it. 🙂

Haha, thanks Lindsay! I must admit that I do really like Fall. It’s just the freezing cold Toronto Winters that I hate, and Fall just means Winter is coming! 🙂

I was welcoming fall, but then the weather this week jumped back up in the 80s! What gives?!?!?! It’s definitely hard to throw on a chunky sweater in 80 degree weather.

Hahaha, I wish I lived where you do! 🙂 The weather in Toronto was actually pretty warm yesterday (about 73) but definitely not as fabulous as being in the 80’s! 🙂

I refuse to admit that fall is coming. And now seeing you in this beautifully colored top, I just want to hold onto summer for as long as possible!

Ha! I was in my closet frantically pulling coats that would allow me to use this top in the fall. This top is laughably bulky under coats. In an airport you could get arrested for smuggling things 🙂 But I was able to pull it off with a utility lightweight jacket I got last year from all places! Forever 21.
As always you look lovely! Have you considered tracking down the skirt too? I just did, on sale woot! and I am in love!

Hahahahahahahaha! You are hilarious! YES, I sort of regret not buying the skirt but it’s so hard for me to buy pencil skirts online without trying them on. I’m pretty curvy so I would guess that for every 10 pencil skirts I try on, maybe 1 or 2 actually fit well. Also, with Anthro is it costs Canadians so much money in duties to send it over the border, then if it doesn’t fit, it costs a fortune to send it back. Arghhhh!

Oh I don’t blame you! I would worn sleeveless and sandals for as long as the weather allows too especially this peplum too is just too gorgeous to be sitting in the closet!

This top is absolutely gorgeous…I fall love in more with it every time I see it. And I’m with you. I’m not ready to let summer go (especially after tanning this past weekend in CA). However, I have mix feelings and am ready for my boots and sweaters too.

Maybe a tight long sleeved or three quarter sleeved top in a complementary colour would look cute under your peplum top? Could be a cute way to layer it! It’s gorgeous, I want you to be able to wear it as much as possible too! 🙂

I love the top, it’d probably be a dress on this shortie but it’s so cute! I don’t want summer to go either. I love fall, but my summer sucked. Can I get a do-over?

    • Jenny
      October 16, 2013

Hahaha, I thought this top would be a dress on me too! Oh no, I wish your summer was better! Overall the weather here in Toronto was terrible this summer. It was so short and I feel like we were jipped! 🙂
