Happy Monday Everyone!
Standing at a curvy 5’2″, I usually find that slim fitting clothing looks best on my small, shapely frame. Β I love the idea of oversized pieces, however I have a difficult time finding items that are oversized but do not overwhelm me. Β I love this Old Navy coat because it looks a little oversized, but still looks like I’m wearing my own coat, and not one borrowed from my Man. Β And, on sale for only $30, how could I pass this up?! Β I hope you all have a wonderful start to your week!

February 3, 2014
Hahahahaha, I can honestly say that a great pair of nude pumps might be my number 1 fashion essential! I wear them all the time! I can’t believe you went so long without a pair. LOL

Yes, when you’re petite, everything looks oversized! You are wearing this coat quite well though. And I love the double stripes AND that lip color!

February 3, 2014
Haha, you are so right! It’s hard to find clothes that fit a curvy and petite frame. π Thanks so much Sarah!
February 3, 2014
You can’t go wrong for that price! Being curvy myself I know the challenge of finding flattering “oversized” pieces – this one is great!
February 3, 2014
Thanks so much Victoria! I agree, the price can’t be beat! π
February 3, 2014
I’m totally in love with the oversized coat at the moment–cozy & super chic!
February 3, 2014
Me too! Thanks Sarah! π

Thank you so very much Shannon! π
February 3, 2014
I totally know what you mean. i’m considered petite sized too and the oversized trend can literally be overwhelming. But, this coat is a great find! It looks like the perfect oversized coat! =D

nancy
February 3, 2014
Thanks Nancy! I know, I’m not complaining about being short by any means, but it definitely can be difficult to find clothing that fits properly, especially anything that is slightly oversized. π
February 3, 2014
You got an awesome deal with that coat! And you’re right, it is oversize, but still looks great π I’m now considering checking old navy’s coat since I have the same issue as well!

Aww, you’ve totally made my day with your comment, Kat! You are way too sweet! Thank you!
February 3, 2014
I honestly can’t tell you are 1. 5’2 and 2. “curvy”. Don’t worry, I mean it as the most complimentary way! I am curvy too and I always am envious at girls who can pull off those tight skinny jeans while their legs still look so slim and a mile long lol. I think this coat looks fabulous on you and I can’t believe it is an Old Navy piece!
February 4, 2014
Hahahahahaha, thank you so much! I make a conscious effort to try to wear clothes that help elongate my body and tone down my curves. It can be challenging but it’s worth the effort. π I just feel so much prettier when I feel well dressed. Skinny jeans and pants are DEFINITELY a huge challenge. It has to be the perfect cut to look good on me, and I can’t tell you how many pairs I’ve tried on that look terrible!!!
February 3, 2014
wow I love that coat! Looks amazing! <3

I totally understand the issue with finding oversized pieces that aren’t overpowering for small frames. I love this coat on you. It looks great with a simple outfit underneath. That lip color too!

February 4, 2014
Thanks so much Sam! You and I definitely share the same struggles with dressing our bodies! π
February 3, 2014
That’s a really great coat on you! For $30, I’d be willing to give it a shot too.
I probably wouldn’t have thought to take a look at the coat in store, but in this post, you really make the coat look like a more expensive, higher end piece.

Something About That
February 4, 2014
Thanks so much Jackie! Hahaha, I can’t tell you how many things I’ve walked right by in stores without giving them a second glance, then I see someone wearing it (or on a blog) and it looks SO MUCH BETTER on a person than on the hanger! I definitely have to remind myself to try pieces on before I totally dismiss them. π
February 4, 2014
Beautiful outfit and love the touch if the nude pumps! xx

Hi J, I ‘m not stopping by regularly to comment, but I keep a keen eye on your style. I’d be doing you an injustice not to comment here, you rock the oversized coat and colour scheme between the Cobalt Blue and Nude shoes is a winning combo!

The cobalt blue color is lovely, and since you kept the pants slim and added the stilettos you still get that long lean effect.
February 10, 2014
Thanks so much Ashleigh! You are so right, I think the key to wearing oversized pieces is keeping the other pieces slim fitting to balance each other out.
February 4, 2014
Hi, I stumbled onto your blog last week and read it all. Love your style and also love that you embrace your curves. Good coloured coat. A change from the usual winter black and greys.
