I eat.  A lot.  But I realized that I don’t drink that much, especially water.  I always have a full glass of water within arm’s reach with the intention of drinking it and gaining all of the benefits of staying sufficiently hydrated. However, by the end of the day, my water glass is still sitting beside me with barely a few sips taken from it.

 

The health and beauty benefits of drinking water are limitless.  Great skin, more energy, faster metabolism, weight loss, boosted immune system, and the list goes on and on.  These are all benefits that I’m in desperate need of. So, when I read that Blossom Lounge, a gorgeous Toronto Boutique, was offering a BLOSSOM x BKR 30-day journey to great skin challenge, I screamed “Sign Me Up!”.

 

The challenge is to drink 5 bottles of water (in the pretty BKR bottle that Blossom Lounge sent to me) or 2.5 litres of water per day.  The promise is for glowing skin, shiny hair and loads of energy.  My challenge to you is to join me on this 30-day journey.  Your skin will thank you for it.

 

A few tips and tricks to help us beat this challenge:

– Add citrus and/or berries to your water for added natural flavor.  I love adding lemons, limes, oranges, strawberries, raspberries and/or mint to my water.

– Tie 5 rubber bands around your water bottle (if your bottle holds 500ml), then remove a rubber band each time you finish the serving.

– Drink a glass of water as soon as you wake up in the morning.  You’ll knock 1 bottle of your daily quota before you even start your day.

– Bring a bottle of water with you every time you leave the house.  Carrying it around will remind and encourage you to drink more.

    Impossibly hard for me. I am doing a wall sit/water challenge right now and while the first part is np, the water? Not so much.
    Now…if it were coffee…..

    I will also add in that I personally drink every through a straw (better for my sensitive teeth) so when I drink water, it’s through a straw as well so I can trick myself into drinking more!

    YES, I don’t know why it’s so hard to drink water, but it is. It’s like the most simple, straight forward thing we can do to improve SO many things but instead of drinking water we’ll spend a bunch of money on skin care and hair care products and fitness/diet programs all the while ignoring the most basic thing when it comes to our health! I’ve been trying to do better and will definitely be upping my intake right along with you! Good luck! And love that bottle!

    Loving this challenge! I try to drink 3 bottles of water per day, but I usually only do 2! I NEED to try that rubber band trick!

    This is a great challenge! I’ve been making an effort to drink more water and what’s worked for me is having a really fun cup or glass at work, and cute paper straws (like in this photo). It’s made a difference!

    I also am loving the water bottle you received. I’m always sourcing the latest and greatest for work, and will take this idea as inspiration.

    I start each morning with a lukewarm water with juice of a lemon, tablespoon of apple cider vinegar & honey with a dash of cinnamon. I swear this has made such a difference in my complexion.

    I drink a lot of water so that’s not a problem for me. I recently gave up diet coke and feel so much better about that too.

    Jenny, this is such a great post. Drinking water is so simple yet so hard to do. I always carry water with me with the intention of drinking it but I always lose track of how much I drink and know it’s not enough. Keeping properly hydrated makes such a difference.
