Floral and Suede

Club Monaco floral dress  //  Vince Camuto ‘Chantel’ booties (c/o)  //  Valentino handbag  //  Gucci Sunglasses

I’m excited to feature my 2nd (of 3) posts styling my favorite footwear from Vince Camuto’s Fall Collection.  A couple of weeks back, I showcased the gorgeous Vince Camuto ‘Fontanela’ caged sandal, and this time I chose a perfect-for-Fall bootie, in a perfect-for-Fall shade of grey.  These booties are really comfortable, and I just love the zipper detail up the side.  I know I’ll get a lot of wear out of them this season.  I can already envision what I’ll wear them with next; a pair of light grey skinny jeans, with an ivory cozy knit sweater.

Kérastase Discipline Treatment (and Giveaway!)

Tuesday, September 23, 2014 20 2

If you’ve been a long time reader, I’m sure you’ve heard me mention the difficulties I have with my hair; frizzy, hard-to-manage, coarse, split ends; I could go on and on. So of course I was beyond thrilled to partner with Kérastase to test out their new Discipline Protocol, an in-salon, non-chemical, hair smoothing treatment designed to restore and repair hair, to make it easier to style, and to get rid of frizz and fly-aways.
My experience began 4 weeks ago with a visit to Blonde Salon, where I was greeted by the sweetest stylist, Danee. She started my appointment with a consultation, then began the Discipline treatment. Step 1, she washed my hair with the Discipline Shampoo, then blow dried it. Step 2, Danee applied the Discipline treatment in small sections at a time, and once again blow dried my hair to activate the treatment and let it seep into my hair. Step 3, she used a hair straightener to smooth the cuticle and lock the treatment. Step 4, she rinsed the treatment out of my hair, and gave me a gorgeous blow out.
Immediately, I could see the results of the treatment. Smooth, gorgeous hair, with greatly reduced frizz and fly-aways. Here is a photo taken immediately after the treatment.

For the next 4 weeks, I used the Kérastase Discipline products at home to extend the results of the treatment.  Danee mentioned that I would see results for up to 21 washes.  I’m at about 18 washes and I can still see a noticeable difference in the frizziness and manageability of my hair.  The products I’m using are the Kérastase Discipline Bain Fluidealiste shampooMaskeratine hair mask and Spray Fluidissme leave-in conditioner.  I absolutely love these products and will continue to use all of them going forward.
Another big difference I noticed with my hair is the reduced drying time.  With those extra minutes, I actually have time to curl my hair instead of quickly using a hair straightener before running out the door.  Here is a photo about a week after the treatment and with added curl.  Even my curls look more smooth and less frizzy.

Overall, I am completely happy and impressed with the Kérastase Discipline treatment and products.  This is a treatment that I will most certainly get again in the future, and I will definitely continue to use these products to control and manage my hair.

Bold Animal Print

J.Crew blouse  //  Express midi skirt  //  Nine West pumps  //  Chanel handbag  //  Gucci sunglasses

I’m super excited to partner today with the incredibly beautiful and stylish Brenna, from Chic Street Style, to showcase how to wear bold animal print to the office.  I went for this statement zebra print midi skirt, while Brenna chose her fabulous leopard print pants.

To keep the look office appropriate, we both went with simple blouses; mine in black, hers in white: and kept our footwear conservative with basic black pumps.  As always,  I was tempted to add color to my outfit with a bright fuchsia heel, but felt that would be more appropriate for a night on the town instead of to the workplace.  Next time I wear this skirt it will probably be for a fun event or date night, where I’m sure I’ll pair it with a pretty yellow or maybe sky blue top.  Be sure to check out Brenna’s blog for more pics of her outfit and to drool over her enviable wardrobe.

UPDATE: (Sept 25)  Please note that when I moved my site over to a new template, a few posts were deleted, including this one.  Sadly, all of the lovely comments on this post were also deleted.  I sincerely thank you all who left comments, and please know that I did read them.  If you left a question, please do not hesitate to ask it again, and I will most definitely respond.  Thanks so much!
