What to Wear to a Wedding

Crazy Style Love, BCBG Dress

Dress: BCBG (old). Belt: Club Monaco (similar). Clutch: Balenciaga (similar). Shoes: Jimmy Choo (similar).

I’ve teamed up with the super sweet Ani (from Fleurani) and the lovely Rita (from Coast With Me) to showcase what 3 ladies from 3 different countries would wear to a summer wedding.  I recently wore this pretty purple dress to an event, but it would be perfect for a wedding as well.  My tip for standing out amongst the usual sea of black at a wedding is to be bold and go for some colour.  As you can see, Ani and Rita were on the same colour page.  It’s the perfect way to be noticed but to not outshine the bride.

Side note: This dress is actually backless, but sometimes a backless dress just doesn’t feel appropriate.  The black panel on the dress is a silk top I threw on to add a little extra coverage.

I just love when colours have pretty names.  I would have described the Nepali by TDM Design scarf I’m wearing as purple and lime green, but they so much more eloquently describe it as African Violet and Tendershoot.

Nepali by TDM Design works with women in Nepal to hand craft all of their beautiful scarves using the most luxurious fabrics.  Not only do they create gorgeous pieces, but they also provide their team in Nepal with above average compensation, access to healthcare and full scholarships for their children to attend school.  It feels so wonderful to support an organization that strives to make a difference and better the world we live in.

Nepali by TDM Design has offered all of you 25% off their gorgeous scarves with the code CRAZYSTYLELOVE!

Monochromatic dressing (that is, one colour from head to toe) is a huge trend for Spring 2013.  I am particularly fond of this trend because it’s really easy to pull a look together, and I always feel a little extra stylish when wearing one single colour (see my past cobalt blue outfit here).  I’m thrilled to be partnering with 3 fabulous ladies to show you how each of us has taken the runway trend and worn it in real life.

Amy from Coffee Beans and Bobby Pins is lovely in white, Sara from Glitter and Grace is chic in black, and Star from Beauty and Bows is pretty in pink.  I felt fresh and ready for Spring in my full-on mint look.  Will you be sporting the monochromatic trend this season?
