Clarisonic Mia2 (Rave) Review

Wednesday, May 29, 2013 16 0

I’m a beauty product junkie.  I’ve tried just about every skin cream, cleanser, pore minimizer, etc on the market.  Sadly, it’s only once every few years that I come across a product that lives up to its (marketing) hype and actually has a fast, noticeable, life changing effect on my (highly sensitive) skin.  The Clarisonic Mia2 Cleansing System not only does precisely what it claims to do, but it far exceeds my expectations.

In the words of Clarisonic, “The Clarisonic Cleansing System is much more than a simple brush; it is a tool that sublimates the skin. It removes 6 times more impurities than manual cleansing, it reduces the size of pores, after two weeks it improves radiance, it optimises the absorption of skincare products and significantly improves their effectiveness.

In the words of Jenny, “The Clarisonic Cleansing System is my skin savior.”

Clarisonic Mia2 Review and Giveaway

I’ve been using the Clarisonic Mia2 cleansing brush for 2 weeks now, and I can honestly say that I don’t remember my skin ever feeling this soft, smooth or healthy.  Even though Clarisonic claimed I would see results in two weeks, I was skeptical.  But, boy, how quickly my doubts were squashed!  Clarisonic also makes several other claims about their Cleansing Brush Systems, and I put each claim to the test.

Claim:  Smoother, softer, healthier-looking skin.

Verdict: Definitely TRUE!  After my very first use of the Mia2, my skin instantly felt softer and tighter (not that “painful” kind of tight when you’ve used a product that’s too harsh for your skin, but that “clean” kind of tight where you know your skin is as clean as it can get).  My skin has continued to look healthier each day.  I’m really excited to see further improvements as I continue to use the Clarisonic.

Claim: Minimizes appearance of pores, fine lines and wrinkles.

Verdict:  TRUE (I think)!  This one is hard to judge after only 2 weeks, but I do feel like the appearance of my pores has been reduced.  My skin feels softer and I have less breakouts, overall giving my skin a healthier appearance and making my flaws less noticeable.

Claim:  Cleanses so thoroughly, skin care products absorb better.

Verdict:  So TRUE!  Not only do my creams and moisturizers absorb better into my skin, but my make-up (concealer and powder) applies so much more evenly and smoothly too.  I’ve noticed that I’m actually using a smaller amount of creams and concealer at each application because my skin feels like it’s absorbing so much more of it.

Claim:  Gentle enough to use 2x daily on all skin types.

Verdict:  TRUE!  I was wary about this claim.  I have very sensitive skin, and most products or exfoliants I’ve tried in the past which claim to be gentle enough for all skin types usually disappoint.  To my surprise, the Clarisonic Mia2 is actually gentle enough to use twice daily on my sensitive skin.   My favorite part about the brush is that it’s fool proof – it’s on a one-minute timer so you don’t over-scrub your skin (20 seconds for forehead, 20 seconds for nose and chin, and 10 seconds for each cheek).  The brush actually pauses when it’s time to move onto the next section of your face.  So easy!

Claim: Noticeable results in 2 weeks.

Verdict: TRUE! My skin was dramatically smoother after only ONE use, and has been just as soft since.  I do not have nearly as many pimples on my forehead or cheeks, however I’m still getting some along my hairline, chin and sides of nose.  My skin feels much, much cleaner and tighter than before I began using the system.

Final Verdict:  HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!  I absolutely LOVE the Clarisonic Mia2, and if I were a betting lady (and I am), I would bet that you will love it too.
