If you want to step into the world of print mixing but don’t really know where to start, I find that the two easiest prints to mix are stripes and polka dots.  Keeping the prints in the same colour family will ensure that the pieces complement each other perfectly.

I want to give a big thank you to all of you for your wonderful support in my last post.  It’s great to see that many of you have the same goal to get healthy this year.  Please do not hesitate to contact me if you need a little support or encouragement to stay on track.  I’ll definitely do my best to help.  Even though it’s only been 2 days, it’s already been challenging to stay away from sugar and sweets (I have a major sweet tooth).  I just have to remember to take it one day at a time.  Thank you again!

P.S. Linking up with Marionberry and her stripe challenge of the month today!

If you look at the outfits I’ve worn and posted this past week, I think it’s obvious that I have a major weakness for statement necklaces.  I’m always on the hunt for pretty new pieces to add to my wardrobe.  Here is a collection of my current favourites.  I will be purchasing a few of these beauties this season, but my holy grail of statement necklaces is definitely the Erickson Beamon stunner. . .hey, a girl can dream, can’t she?!

Waisted

Dress: Topshop. Sweater: Old Navy. Clutch: Marc by Marc Jacobs. Shoes: Nine West. Necklace: Forever 21. Rings: Kate Spade, H&M. Sunglasses: Chanel.

The last time I wore a sweater around my waist was probably in the 90’s.  It’s a look I never thought I would wear again.  I snapped these photos in a hurry (to minimize the awkward stares from the many people outside on this beautiful day), so I regretfully forgot to take any side or back view photos.  If I had, you would have seen that this sweater looks as though it was actually made to be worn with this dress this way.  I think you would have agreed that I really had no choice but to relive my teenage years by wearing it around my waist.
