Living in Downtown Toronto, Justin and I do a lot of walking around the City.  This is a typical outfit you’ll catch me wearing on weekends.  In fact, this is the exact outfit I’ve worn the last several weekends.  If it ain’t broke. . . .

A few weeks back I partnered with Old Navy to showcase how I wear their denim.  Well, I’m excited to once again work with them to highlight their awesome sweater sale happening right now until September 11, with prices starting at only $15!

Old Navy’s “New Crew” is part sweater, part sweatshirt, and all sorts of comfy.  They have so many pretty and embellished options to choose from, but I immediately gravitated to this grey “new crew” with rose gold sequins.  I love the effortless look of sweatshirts with heels, and I know I’ll be wearing this same outfit from head-to-toe over and over again this Fall.

Funny story about when I purchased this Chanel blue beauty .  .  . if you follow on Instagram, you may have seen that I purchased it was when I was in Chicago last month during Easter.  I usually only splurge on designer bags when I’m celebrating a milestone in my life, for example my very first bonus, a promotion at work, or my first birthday in seven years without a boyfriend (my 26th b-day, also a Chanel).  Well, I threw my rules out the window when I saw this vibrant cobalt blue bag at the Chanel store.  I saw it sitting on the shelf, and I fell instantly in love.  I tried it on, but left the store empty handed because I didn’t want to make an impulse purchase on something so expensive.  I usually put a lot of time and thought into my big purchases.

One hour later, I found myself walking back into the Chanel store.  I couldn’t stop thinking about this bag!  The sales associate greeted me by my name, and I felt a little embarrassed because I was hoping she wouldn’t remember me.  Another woman was trying on my bag, so I patiently waited my turn.  She was debating between the cobalt colour and the same bag in white.  I tried on the bag but this time I filled it with all of my purse contents to make sure it would fit my essentials.  However, once again, I left the store empty handed.

Another hour later, my thoughts consumed with this handbag, I was walking into the Chanel store for the 3rd time that day!  I smiled when I saw the same woman who was in the store an hour earlier, still debating between which colour to buy.  Just as the woman said “I’ll take the blue”, I said “I’ll take it too”, and we all laughed.

I haven’t regretted buying this blue stunner for a moment.  The colour is just gorgeous, and the size is perfect for day or night.  I’ve decided to sell a few of my other handbags to justify the purchase, which in my head, means the bag was free!  My Dad keeps telling me that’s not really how it works, but hey, a little pretend never hurt anyone.

I’m curious, do you own any designer handbags?  Do you put a lot of research into them or are they more of an impulse purchase?  Do you only buy them for milestone occasions, or do you buy them just to treat yourself?  Do you save for a while knowing you will purchase a designer bag once you’ve saved enough, or it is more of a “buy it when I feel like it” kind of thing?
