Skirt: Tristan. Jacket: H&M (similar). Top: Jacob. Clutch: Marc Jacobs. Shoes: Boutique 9 (similar). Sunglasses: Gucci. Watch: Michael Kors. Bracelets: BCBG, J.Crew, Forever 21. Rings: Coach.

Some of you may have seen on Instagram that I purchased this gorgeous abstract print skirt at the Tristan store opening event I attended a few weeks ago.  I immediately fell in love with the beautiful jewel tone colours, and could picture wearing this skirt all year round.  As a fabulous bonus, this skirt is made in Canada, along with many other of the pieces from Tristan.  Sadly, it’s rare now a days that brands produce merchandise in our own country, so it’s wonderful to be able to support our economy.

P.S. Keeping with the Canadian theme of this post, all of you lovely Canadian ladies can click here to enter to win a Clarisonic Mia2 Cleansing System.  I am madly in love with my Clarisonic Mia2 and highly recommend it!

Feminine Flare

Friday, March 15, 2013 103 0

Coat: Jacob (c/o). Top: H&M. Shoes: Boutique 9. Belt: BCBG (from a dress). Tights: Hue. Handbag: Chanel. Sunglasses: Chanel.

I’ll venture to say that almost any Canadian woman you stop on the street would say that they have at least one item from Jacob hanging in their closet.   I already had my eye on this flirty flared trench coat when the sweet people at Jacob offered to let me choose a piece from their new Spring collection.  Of course, I’m a sucker for the pretty blue colour and feminine flared shape.  I’m really excited to experiment at bit with this coat and actually wear it as a dress once the weather warms up a bit.  I can already picture wearing it with bare legs, my sparkly citron Anthropologie belt (as worn here), and maybe my yellow Nine West pumps.

If you want to step into the world of print mixing but don’t really know where to start, I find that the two easiest prints to mix are stripes and polka dots.  Keeping the prints in the same colour family will ensure that the pieces complement each other perfectly.

I want to give a big thank you to all of you for your wonderful support in my last post.  It’s great to see that many of you have the same goal to get healthy this year.  Please do not hesitate to contact me if you need a little support or encouragement to stay on track.  I’ll definitely do my best to help.  Even though it’s only been 2 days, it’s already been challenging to stay away from sugar and sweets (I have a major sweet tooth).  I just have to remember to take it one day at a time.  Thank you again!

P.S. Linking up with Marionberry and her stripe challenge of the month today!
