A few week back, I mentioned that I was partnering with Monica Rich Kosann to host a dinner to welcome the gorgeous jewelry designer for a visit to Toronto. The dinner was at one of my favorite restaurants, Colette Grand Cafe, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. It was an evening full of great company, delicious food and beautiful jewelry.

I wanted to wear something feminine and pretty to the dinner, and this Kate Spade matching dress and shoes was the perfect combo. When I was planning out this outfit in my head, I was a little scared that the matchy-matchy prints might be overkill, but once I actually tried it on, I was in love.

Below are a few photos from the dinner with Monica Rich Kosann, photographed by the talented Heidi Lau. Side note, Heidi also photographed my girl Gaby‘s home for a Style Me Pretty Living feature. You’ll definitely want to check out the photos of her beautiful condo.

Top: 424 Fifth (c/o). Skirt: 424 Fifth (c/o). Necklace: Tenley Rowe. Shoes: Nine West. Handbag: Coach (similar). Sunglasses: Gucci.

This is the skirt that started it all.  “It all” referring to my love affair for 424 Fifth.  I saw this gorgeous citron midi skirt in their lookbook back in January and had been dreaming about it ever since.  It recently hit stores, and I made sure to be first in line to snag it.

The material is beautiful.  It almost feels like taffeta which makes it seem like a fun party skirt that is still day appropriate.  I’m 5’2″ but hemmed this skirt by 3″, which makes it a great length for those lucky tall ladies who want a midi style.  I am so obsessed with this stunning skirt that I also selected it in a fabulous cobalt blue (courtesy of 424 Fifth), then went back the next day and purchased it myself in a soft shade of ivory.  I hemmed the blue version, but left the ivory at the original length to change it up.  You definitely be seeing a lot of these skirts on the blog in the future.
