I’m so excited to share some photos of the beautiful jewellery I wore on our wedding day. With only two weeks to go before our special day, I was starting to get a little nervous that I hadn’t yet found the perfect pieces to wear. When we were vacationing in Vancouver, a friend suggested I check out the cutest little store called Jeweliette Jewellery, where the owner, Elsa Corsi, makes her own custom, hand-made crystal pieces. As soon as I walked in the store, I felt like I was in sparkle heaven.

The darling Elsa and her beautiful mother were both in the store when I stopped by. Both women were so sweet and lovely. They helped me select the perfect crystal pieces to go with my dress; a gorgeous hair piece, a stunning bracelet and a pair of sparkly earrings. I received so many compliments on my jewellery that day, and I know these are pieces that I will love and cherish forever.

Elsa also makes custom jewellery, however, I found the perfect pieces in her store, so I didn’t have to go that route. But I really do want to treat myself to a custom Elsa Corsi crystal piece in the future. I just love the thought of owning a unique piece of jewellery. Below are a couple of pics I took while visiting her store, and also a close up of the earrings I wore. I’ve also included a photo of an adorable cat taken in the courtyard leading out from her store. This beautiful cat hangs around Elsa’s shop, and it was such a picture perfect moment.

Golf Country Club Wedding

August 15, 2015 was the most magical and memorable day of my life. I finally married my best friend. Justin and I have been dating for 13 (of 16) years, and in June we decided we couldn’t wait any longer to tie the knot. We planned the wedding in less than 3 months, and that day was an absolute dream.

Neither Justin nor I ever dreamed about having a wedding. We would have actually just gotten married with our immediate family present, if it hadn’t meant so much to our families for us to have a wedding. Therefore, neither of us were set on following tradition. To us, it was more important that every aspect of the day reflected our style and tastes. As you can see, I went with a pink sapphire and rose gold engagement ring, my dress was a floral print, we didn’t have a wedding party (just our best man and made-of-honour), and we really wanted the star of the evening to be the food (rather than us).

But, the one traditional thing that was of the utmost importance to us was to have the perfect photographer who could capture our wedding exactly how we envisioned. After researching hundreds (yes, hundreds!) of photographers, we finally found the most amazing woman, Jessica, from Jessica Rose Photography. Her style was exactly what we were looking for, and we couldn’t be more thrilled with the photos.

We hope you enjoy this little glimpse into our special day. Later this week, I’ll be sharing a few more detailed photos of the gorgeous jewellery I wore from Elsa Corsi. Her stunning pieces added the perfect touch of sparkle to my look.

Classic Aviators

Banana Republic fringed top  //  BCBG cape blazer (less expensive version)  //  Zara jeans (similar)  //  Ray Ban aviators via IRIS  //  Chanel handbag  //  Zara heels (similar)  //  x ring

There are a few types of sunglass frames that every woman should own. A classic pair of Ray Ban aviators are right near the top of that list. When I was picking out a pair of aviators from IRIS, my first reaction was to reach for a coloured, mirrored lens, like purple or blue. But then I tried on these classic black lenses, and really loved how chic they looked. They will definitely be a staple in my sunglass collection.

I’m also wearing my newest favorite top in these pics. I was shopping in Banana Republic, and saw a sales associate wearing this gorgeous fringed beauty. My heart skipped a beat, and I immediately pounced on her to help me find it. It reminded me of a Kate Spade tunic I recently tried on, but the B/R top fit me much better.

*A friendly reminder that I’m thrilled to be an IRIS brand ambassador! :)
